What are your personal training qualifications? Credentials? Experience?

After playing baseball for two years at Longview Community College, I furthered my education at Wellsprings School of Allied Health where I studied Personal Training, Coaching & Nutrition. I have received my Corrective Exercise Specialist and Performance Enhancement Specialist Certification. I will be graduating at the the top of my class with the NASM CPT,  Nutrition certification, and an Associates Degree.

Is there a story behind how fitness came to be such an important aspect of your life?

Fitness has always been important to me, but I didn’t know as a kid that fitness would change my life in the way that it did. I was definitely one of those kids that played baseball, football, soccer, basketball, and ran track for years until about high school. Once I started weight training at Rockhurst Highschool is when my real love for fitness started to show.

Why did you get into personal training?

Once I graduated high school, I decided to take a year off of sports and ended up gaining about 15 pounds my freshman year of college. At the end of that first year I decided to change schools and tried out for the Longview baseball team after almost 2 years of not even picking up a ball. I ended up making the team and after just a year of training again, I was able to lose about 10% body fat and I actually gained a lot of muscle. I felt absolutely amazing and I think it was then that I realized that I wanted to help people make their own life changes.

How would you describe your personal training style and/or philosophy?

My personal training style is more resistance training based with a lot of the classic compound movements.

Do you have a specialty or anything that makes you unique?

What makes me unique is even though I have a sports background, I have furthered my training style to be able to work with anyone of any age and still be able to make fun yet challenging workouts that produce long lasting results.

What is your personal favorite exercise or workout?

Two of my favorite workouts to do are the seated row and bench press, but back squats are a close second.

Is there anything you would like to tell a prospective client before they take the leap to sign up for workouts with you?

I would probably say that I was once in their shoes and that as long as they “trust the process” and stay consistent with nutrition & exercise, then any of their goals can be made possible over time.
